Hi there!
The Summer Solstice is that time of year when the sun is at their peak and the day remains long, bright and hot. And our personal lives seem to reflect this too. Long stretches of time suddenly available that allow for more bright moments with friends and increased opportunities to flaunt it, hot stuff! The Summer Solstice, equally, is a time where the energy is strong and the ambitions are high! A time where we are buzzing with activity either from work, friends or life in general seeming to amp up from the quiet of winter. As we welcome in even longer days, let’s get an idea of what might be unfolding over the next three moons or so for us.
The Summer Solstice is here and I wanted to do a collective tarot reading for anyone who crosses paths with my blog 🙂 Here’s a message for you! Take what resonates and leave the rest here.
For each card pulled, you’ll notice some possible action items listed for each card in the reading. I find at times, it is helpful to have some tangible items attached to the cards to provide a greater sense of direction for the seeker. Since this reading is also for the Summer Solstice, I felt like it only made sense!
The question for this reading is, ‘What does the Summer Solstice have in store for us and this upcoming summer season?’ I say us because this reading is not just for me or you, but both of us. We are in this together.
May you find what it is you seek, if so you will.
What does the Summer Solstice have in store for us and this upcoming summer season?
the query
- Card 1: King of Cups (card under Ace of Wands)
- Card 2: Ace of Wands
- Card 3: Ace of Pentacles
- Card 4: 10 of Wands
Card 1: What area of my life is a light being shined upon?
The intersection of creativity and discipline.
The area of your life that is craving your attention at the moment is your passions of the heart.
Creating that gardening club, pursuing photography, going back to school, learning about crystals. Think about what that passion has been for you lately. That if it were up to you- you’d pursue endlessly! You are being called to look at that part of yourself a bit more seriously.
You are shown to be wise, knowledgeable and intuitive. You know a little something, something about your passion. Maybe even some ideas about how to turn that passion into something that redirects your life. What ideas are you brewing up there?
There’s a light being shown on the ideas you’ve been having around turning your passion into something a bit bigger than yourself. And to accomplish such a task, it often requires a combination of fluid intuition and hard set discipline to turn into a reality.
That gardening club needs to have a place to garden, a way to sign up, money for tools, etc. How will these materials be gathered? You want to create an Instagram presence for your photography, so now that means you need to post on a consistent basis.
The King of Cups understands the balance needed with the responsibility he holds. He knows when to set some boundaries in place. To not fully be consumed by the lively creative waters.
Almost automatically, you understand that discipline is a requirement to pursue passions of the heart; an awareness around the boundaries needed to manage such the cycle of creative liveliness going.
Possible Action Items:
- Take some time to reflect on any creative endeavors you wish to develop. And for what purpose? To create community? Turn a profit? Just because you can?
- Reflect on what you have to offer to your community, where could you take up some responsibility?
Card 2a: What will be some challenges in this area I may experience?
The challenge for this month is turning those ideas into something tangible, making the idea real. You are an excellent visionary. You are brilliant at having ideas. You may have a harder time turning those ideas into actionable items. Those ideas need to eventually turn into the hard to-dos, a schedule, a routine, a habit before they can manifest into anything tangible.
Card 2b: How can I overcome these challenges?
You can overcome these challenges by taking some time this month to make those ideas real. Sit down and have a brainstorming period where you leave with at least three actionable items. Spend some time thinking about where you want to go and what you need to get there. Journal around what the next steps might look like.
Possible Action Items:
- Have a brainstorming session over what you wish to manifest in this world
- Identify a goal you have for yourself related to your passion, maybe it’s spending more time learning water brush techniques or finally creating that workshop idea you’ve had for months
What past influences are affecting me at this moment?
Your thoughts and feelings around money, wealth and abundance are being brought to the surface again by the nature of your ideas and dreams you hold.
Money is one hell of a topic for many reasons, for all kinds of people.
Money is neither good nor bad and yet we hold our very strong opinions around money. Maybe thoughts around who deserves it and those that don’t. Money is real, money is fake. Some of us see money as the root of all evil. Unfortunately, a lot of our negative feelings around money gets in the way of creating our own wealth (hmm, maybe I should expand on that topic in a different post!). Some of us may not understand that money in fact does not grow on trees and we should be more mindful about our spending. Wherever on that spectrum you lie, taking some time to think about how we personally feel about money can provide some valuable insights for ourselves.
Take some time this month to reflect on your relationship with money.
What are your spending habits? Where would it be beneficial to cut some expenses?
Consider, if you are wanting to pursue a passion, that passion must be funded, and if that passion were to turn into something more, let’s say a business, it would be helpful to have some idea of money management and business finances. But before we start talking about investments, ROI, stocks, business accounts etc, We need to talk about personal finances and budgeting.
Possible Action Items:
- Spend time with your budget
- Journal around your feelings and relationship with money
What will most likely come to be?
If we pursue our passion with the diligence of the King of Cups- know that some enduring battles lie ahead. Especially at the beginning phases of trying to map out your vision and get a sense for what it is exactly you are trying to do- it can all be very overwhelming. It’s okay and yes, it sucks. One of those things that is kinda part of the process.
In these overwhelming moments when it feels like you don’t even know what to do next. Don’t fear! You are moving exactly as you need to and the worst thing you could do for yourself is quit. Instead of quitting, try out rest. Recuperate yourself and come back to the goal again and again and again..
Don’t be afraid to reach out for support! Whether a friend, mentor, business coach, whatever!
Possible Action Items:
- Identify the people in your circle and the ways they support you. How can you lean on them in more difficult times?
- Take time to rest as you pursue your goals
- Create a list of affirmations for times when you will feel overwhelmed and stressed
Tarot Reading Summary
The overall message here is one of pursuing the callings of you heart. Pursue your dreams earnestly and take the time to focus on the ‘boring details’ of building a dream. Don’t forget about staying consistent or being smart with your finances. There will definitely be many moments of overwhelm and stress and you move to do something a bit more different. Doing hard things isn’t a bad thing or a sign to quit. Remember to rest, find support and continue forward. Who knows what you may harvest come autumn.
